The Austin High School Football Schedule

Whether you are a fan of varsity football or you simply like watching it, the Austin high school football schedule has something for everyone. With games taking place at a variety of venues, you’ll find that this schedule is a great place to find out when and where your favorite teams will be playing.

San Angelo Central

Despite finishing the season with a 4-2 record, the San Angelo Central High School Bobcats fell just short of a playoff berth. In fact, the team finished third in its district and failed to secure a playoff berth for the first time in eight years. This season, the Bobcats will play in District 3-6A, a league largely composed of Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex schools.

In addition to their newest opponent, the Bobcats will also play a few non-district games. This includes a potential bi-district playoff game against El Paso Montwood. In addition to the usual suspects, the Bobcats will also play Austin Vandegrift, Frenship, Odessa High, Odessa Permian, and Midland High.

In fact, the Central football program will play 10 games in 2021. This includes two games in District 3-6A, two non-district games and one scrimmage. The program has also been given a slew of new coaches, including new head coach Kevin Crane, who took over after Brent Davis moved on to the West Coast. This season, the Central Bobcats will be bolstered by six starters on the defense and a new wave of players who went 10-0 on the junior varsity team last year.

The Central football program’s 2021 schedule will be similar to last season’s, but the schedule also features four new non-district games. In addition to the regular season, the Bobcats will also play in the Little Southwest Conference.

Lubbock

Whether you live in Austin or Lubbock, it’s hard to deny that the Texas high school football season is one of the best in the country. With a full slate of games against rivals like Texas A&M and Texas Tech, and an array of marquee opponents from across the country, there is a good chance that your favorite school could take home the trophy in a few weeks time. But how do you choose from the hundreds of schools competing for the crown? Below are a few tips and tricks to make your pick a success.

The most important tip is to make sure you get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. This is especially true if you have a big game on the horizon. After all, you don’t want to be playing with a hangover. And it’s also a good idea to check with your school’s athletic director about perks such as free transportation to and from the game. If you’re traveling to a game in another state, keep in mind that your transportation will probably be in the form of a plane.

Finally, don’t forget to take advantage of the state’s many free concerts, movies and other attractions. And if you’re not into sports, don’t miss the chance to check out the city’s many parks and greenspaces. You can also enjoy a show at the Austin State University campus during the day.

Big Spring

During the fall season, the Big Spring High School football schedule consists of 12 to 14 games. The Bulldogs play four Mid-Penn Capital teams, including Lake View, Clint, Andrews, and Fort Stockton. Big Spring lost two key players from last season, but the team has a strong core of young players. Those younger players can determine how much of a return the team will make in the postseason.

Big Spring has an impressive line up of players on both sides of the ball. Senior quarterback Ethan Eisenberg will lead the huddle as the team enters its third year under Coach Hoffman. Eisenberg is a fine-tuned talent who brings intangible qualities and experience to the huddle. He also brings an array of talent to the line.

The team lost two key players from last season, but there are several playmakers who will be counted on to lead the team this fall. Senior wide receiver Aaron Matthews and senior defensive lineman Jay Roberds are two players who can contribute on the offensive side of the ball. Junior tackle Logan Brennan and junior lineman Zachary Mell are also players who will make an impact on the defensive side of the ball.

The Big Spring Bulldogs have improved considerably since last year’s team went 1-8, including a victory in the first round of the district playoffs over Conrad Weiser. The team lost in the quarterfinals of the playoffs to Lampeter-Strasburg, but the team has the confidence to challenge for the Mid-Penn Capital title again this season.

Mansfield Timberview

Usually, Mansfield Timberview is an all-boys school, but this year Emma Young became the first female kicker on the varsity football team. She kicked two extra points in the first half and kicked subsequent kickoffs after scores were made. She had also kicked for the JV team earlier in the season.

The Wolves are undefeated in 5A, and are ranked second in the state. They will play in the 6A-Division II semis next week against Port Neches-Groves. They have a strong passing game and average 337 yards per game through the air. This is a team that will look to continue their winning ways.

The Richland Royals are one of the most prolific passing teams in the state. Junior Paxton Land had 22-30 passing for 322 yards and five touchdowns. Sophomore Kennen Miller added 121 yards on 22 carries. Junior athlete J’Koby Williams had four catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned a fumble for 104 yards and two scores.

The other Texas high school football schedule this week featured the Cibolo Steele Eagles defeating Converse Judson 62-19 in a triple overtime game. The Austin Westlake Wolves defeated Austin Bowie 45-0 in a shutout. Meanwhile, Waxahachie defeated Mansfield Lake Ridge 39-31.

The Denton Guyer Wildcats will host the Southlake Carroll Dragons in the area round. The two teams have had eye on the prize all season. This will be the Wildcats’ final game of the season.

Tennis

Besides the high-octane football games, the Austin ISD is also home to some of the best athletic programs in the state. From volleyball to track and field to swimming, Austin is a mecca for varsity athletes. And if you’re looking to score some extra PE credit, competitive tennis is a great way to do it. And with the right equipment and coaching, you can do it yourself.

The best part is that you don’t have to leave your neighborhood to get a taste of the action. If you don’t want to drive to the other side of town, you can watch the varsity matches at the Wescott Sports Complex. You can also watch the junior varsity matches at the Neveln tennis courts. And if you really want to get your tennis on, you can always try out for the varsity team. And if you’re lucky enough to live in Austin, you may be able to watch a couple of games for free.

The newest entrant to the Austin ISD is Akins Early College High School, which competes in the state’s highest classification. Akins is located in South Austin and excels at sports. Besides tennis, the school also has a slew of other high-quality athletic programs.
