Using SAT scores, researchers have calculated a College Readiness Rating for different races and ethnicities. This indicator shows how students perform on grade point averages, taking and passing Advanced Placement (AP) exams, and other indicators. The results show significant racial disparities.

The study looked at four cohorts of Indiana students entering grade nine in 2014/15 and 2017/18. The results show that Black or African American students are less likely to meet the college readiness benchmark than Asians and Hispanics.
