The Bucs defeated the Tigers 9-0 in the regular season and will play them again in the playoffs. The Bucs scored an extra point with 6:28 left in the first quarter.
The Bucs’ first-team defense only allowed a field goal in the first three plus quarters of the game. This is a big improvement from last year’s playoffs where the Bucs allowed eight field goals.

During their 2018 season, the Phil Campbell Bobcats went 4-6. This year, the Bobcats have a lot to look forward to. Despite having one region loss, the Bobcats have a chance to get into the playoffs and win a region title. In fact, this team should be undefeated in their final two games of the regular season.
During the regular season, the Bobcats will play Phillips and Elkmont. These are two teams that have faced each other before, but they have not played very often. Last season, Phil Campbell and East Lawrence met in a game that went 21-19 in favor of the Hawks. The Bobcats have not won a game against the Wildcats since 2007.

Neither the Bob Jones Patriots nor the Madison Academy Mustangs are exactly famous for their winning ways. However, this weekend they are both in the playoffs. Both teams will face off on Friday. They will be playing in a six team Class 6A, Region 2 competition. A win will give them a ticket to the Go Gold Bowl in Alabaster. A loss will send them to the Class 6A, Region 1 championship game. Neither team has won a playoff game in the last three years, although both did make the cut.
Despite the 0-7 record against the Buccaneers, the Bob Jones Patriots have actually won the most playoff games in the history of high school football in Alabama. A win would give them a shot at a third straight state title and the chance to move up in classification. They have never had a winning season in the Class 7A playoffs, although they did play in the Class 6A, Region 2 playoffs last season.
The Patriots are led by a stout defense and a slew of talented offensive players. Head coach Kelvis White put his star quarterback, junior Dylan Willingham, on the field for the first time this season. He completed 10 of 12 passes for 110 yards and hit senior wide receiver Brenden Cooper on a five yard touchdown pass. The team’s offense put up its best stats in the second half when it scored on all five of its possessions.
