Xavier Xavier is a junior at Berry High School, and he has already had a successful career as a player for the berry wildcats football team. He has played for the team for several years now and he has had some incredible stats to his name.
Xavier won the Class LL football championship for the third straight year. The Falcons defeated Norwich Free Academy 48-14 in the title game. They also defeated Greenwich 55-14, Glastonbury 30-13, and Middletown 41-14.
Xavier’s offensive line is led by 6-foot-2, 269-pound tackle Max Schumann. The team has scored 526 points this season. The Falcons have won 37 of their last 38 games. In the championship game, Xavier was able to hold NFA to only 169 yards of offense.
NFA had three-and-outs on their first two possessions. The Falcons got as close as the NFA’s 5-yard line. Xavier went 74 yards on nine plays.
Xavier’s defense held NFA to no points in the second half. The Falcons’ speed is what sets them apart. They had a fumble and turned it into a touchdown. The extra point was missed by Andrew Verre.
Xavier took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. After the first half, the lead ballooned to 21 points in the third quarter. Berry scored a 25-yard scamper with 10:21 to play in the game. He added two more rushing touchdowns.
Xavier’s rushing attack has been explosive this season. DeAngelo Berry has rushed for over 1,800 yards this season. Berry has also been named JLS Ironman of the Year. He finished with 36 touchdowns.
The Staples Wildcats had a very physical game. They punched the Wreckers in the mouth. They also scored on a punt return and a touchdown.
Xavier’s recent history has been nothing short of impressive. During Greg McDermott’s 26 seasons as a head coach, he’s compiled 807 wins and has reached the milestone of winning 50 games or more at four different schools. Among active Division I men’s coaches, only 26 have achieved the feat.
During the last six seasons, Xavier has compiled a record of 129-29 (.816) at the Cintas Center. That is the third-best home record in the country behind Kentucky and Gonzaga. It also ranks as the second-best all-time record in the conference.
Xavier’s winning streak against Creighton is now 17-13. The Bulldogs are 2-1 this season in games decided by eight points or fewer. In fact, 21 of the 30 all-time meetings have come down to the wire in the final minute.
Xavier has also had a great run at home. They have gone 39-0 in non-conference home games. They also have two games that went to overtime and two games that were decided by eight points or fewer.
While Xavier’s win-loss record isn’t the best in the BIG EAST, it’s still good enough to give them a good chance of winning the conference. Xavier has a great shot at catching Villanova. Xavier is 1-2 in BIG EAST play after a loss to Seton Hall.
The Xavier Musketeers are also pretty good on the glass. They allow 65.4 points per game, but they also average 4.6 rebounds. That’s a good thing, especially if they can keep the ball out of the hands of their opponents.
During the Kentucky Wildcats’ 41-19 victory over the Louisville Cardinals on November 16, 2019, running back Chris Rodriguez broke the school record for the most 100-yard games in a single season. He also broke the record for the most rushing yards in a single game, breaking Benny Snell Jr.’s 19-year old record.
During the game, Rodriguez averaged 9.8 yards per carry, and led the Wildcats’ rushing attack with 24 carries for 120 yards. He also has five rushing touchdowns this season.
The first play of the game saw Rodriguez run to the left. He then followed with a three-yard run to the right. It was the first time the Louisville defense had given up a rushing touchdown in the past 30 years.
On the second play of the game, Rodriguez was given the first down. He ran to the left again for three yards, and then ran to the right for eight. The next play saw him run for another eight yards. It was the longest rushing play in Kentucky history.
The biggest question remaining is whether or not Carlos Rodriguez will play again for the Wildcats. He has been working out with the team, and was recently named to the preseason First Team All-SEC list.
While he may not play in the regular season, Rodriguez is a major factor in the ground attack and could make his presence known in UK’s bowl game. The running back has reached the 100-yard mark in four of the last five games. He will face a tougher test next week against Mizzou.
Earlier this week, the Savannah State University Wildcats snapped their 16-game losing streak against Bethune-Cookman. Earlier this year, Erik Raeburn earned his first victory as a head coach at SSU. He was hired away from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind.
Raeburn compiled a 78-13 record over five seasons, including a 17-0 record in the NCAA Division III playoffs. He was also an assistant coach at Wabash College. He compiled a 78-13 record from 2008 to 2015.
In the first quarter, SSU scored on a 38-yard field goal by John Barron. The Wildcats led 20-2 after Miller Kopp’s fourth 3-pointer. But then, Bethune-Cookman roared back with a 20-point second quarter.

The Wildcats will leave the Capital Athletic Conference and move to the Northern Athletic Conference in fall 2021. They will play in the NCAA Division III playoffs for the fifth time in five years.
In the second quarter, Bethune-Cookman took a 10-9 lead on Dylan Robertson’s alley. It ended up being the Wildcats’ last possession of the game. They loaded up bases in the eleventh inning.
Bethune-Cookman had the ball on its own 22 with 1:34 to go. The Wildcats’ attempt to get a 52-yard field goal failed. Instead, the ball went into the end zone.
Historically, the Sissonville Football program has dominated the world of high school football. In fact, Sissonville has won 12 games in a row. But that era could be ending. In fact, the Purple Devils could be facing a must-win game at West Point on Friday.
The game has been played 47 times, with Sumiton winning 36 times. The team has played in Class 3A in the past, but has struggled in 2A. It has won one game in the past two seasons. But the team has found that 2A is a fun game. It has also found that depth is a problem.
The team has played some quality games in the past few weeks. One of them was a 49-0 win over the Brilliant Tigers. The game also included a 65-yard punt return by Seth Simpson. The Purple Devils also had some big plays in passing, such as Austin Owens’ pass to Brady Whitworth for a TD.
The team also won a contest at Spring Garden by taking the field in the tournament’s first round. The other was a 5-4 win over the Brantley Bulldogs in the first round. But in the end, the Eagles lost a 6-5 contest to the Pleasant Home Bulldogs in the second round.
